The Village of Altamont, located within the Town of Guilderland in Albany County. So if you're an Village of Altamont Democrat, you're also a Town of Guilderland Democrat and we're all Albany County Democrats.

The name, Altamont, means "high mountain" and the village is located directly below the Helderberg Escarpment near New York State Thatcher Park.
In the days of old, Altamont was a summer vacation spot that was reached by train. The old train station in the center of the village once served this once busy whistle stop and is now the location of the Altamont Free Library.
The Altamont Fair has been held annually at the Altamont Fairgrounds since 1893. The Altamont Fair is a three county fair representing Albany, Schenectady and Greene Counties. The fairground is also the site of several other festivals.
