Sean Coffey for NY Attorney General
Bronx Beginnings
As New York’s next Attorney General, Sean Coffey will continue to fight vigorously for those who cannot fight for themselves. Public service has been a way of life for Sean since he enrolled at the Naval Academy at age 17. He served in our Nation’s military, fought drug rings as a federal prosecutor, and took on Wall Street banks. In a time when trust in political and financial institutions is at an all-time low, Sean is a fresh voice to take on public corruption in state government, to make sure that Wall Street obeys the law, and to ensure that powerful interests don’t prey on the struggling working families of New York.
Active Duty in the Military
Sworn in at the United States Naval Academy at age 17, Sean
graduated with merit and an engineering degree in 1978. He was named
Honor Graduate of his Naval Flight Officer class and flew P-3 Orion
missions tracking Soviet submarines during the Cold War. Sean was then
assigned to the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was chosen
by the Navy to serve as the personal military assistant
to Vice
President George H.W. Bush.
Sean completed his active duty service in
1986.
