The Guilderland Town Board is the governing, legislative and policy-making body of our town government.   The board consists of four Town Board Members and the Town Supervisor.  They approve the budget and vote on appropriations throughout the year.  They also determine "Town Laws" and appoint officials to various other boards within the Town.  Town Board Members also serve as liaisons to the various departments within town government.

Each member of the Town Board serves a four year term, with the exception of the Town Supervisor who serves a two year term.  Two of the four seats on the Town Board are up for election every other year.   Currnenty the Town  Board consists of three Democrats (including the Town Supervisor) and two Republicans.

In 2011, the two Town Board seats up for election are currently held by the two Republicans, neither of whom  are re-running for their seats after serving only one term.
