"Estates is the key word when it comes to Surrogate's Court; that, and supervising the administration of small estates. In each county, a Surrogate has power over administrators, executors, guardians and trustees of estates and all matters which may arise in such connection, according to Black's Law Dictionary" and the Albany County website.

The Albany County Surrogate Court Judge is elected for a 10 year term, so this is a very important election.
