Patricia Slavick, Town Board
Guilderland is a special place. Its diversity of resources and its convenient location make it an ideal place to live, work and raise a family. I have been a Guilderland resident for 24 years, and feel very fortunate to have raised two children here.
I have had the privilege of serving Guilderland in various capacities during the last ten years. I have served on the Guilderland Town Board since 2000. Prior to becoming a Town Board Member, I was a facilitator for the Study Circles group, where town residents came together to share concerns and make recommendations for the Comprehensive Plan. I was also a member of the Economic Advisory Council. In addition, I am serving as the liaison to the Police Department, Senior Services, Emergency Medical Services, Receiver of Taxes and theTraffic Safety Committee.
Government works best when it involves the people it serves - working with residents to address their concerns and to cooperatively develop solutions. Serving in elective office is a way to give back to the community that you believe in. I strongly believe in our community, and am fully committed to continuing to give back to Guilderland to make it an even better place to live.
I am proud of the following accomplishments since I have been a Town Board member:
- Held line on Town taxes
- Adopted Town Master Plan
- Adopted Rural Guilderland Plan
- Water and sewer system upgrades
- Adopted Ethics Law
- Provided new golf course and soccer fields
- Approved new Senior housing
- Helped make government open and responsible
I will draw on my experience as a Town Board member to continue to strengthen our neighborhoods, improve public safety, enhance recreational facilities, hold the line on taxes, and preserve green space. Above all, I will to listen to the concerns of our residents and to seek solutions based on that input, and increase citizen participation in government. Please contact me with any issues or concerns.
Thank you for your support,
Pat Slavick
